The hotels are mostly small family run hotels. The largest is in Brasov with 40 rooms and the smallest with 4 rooms. All rooms have private bathroom, mostly with showers. You will be assured of dinner with Romanian specialities and country breakfasts. Romanian hospitality will also be to the fore as the owners in most cases will welcome you personally.
We have personally stayed in or visited all of our accommodations. They have all been selected for their great locations, friendly atmosphere and traditional hospitality, as well as the warm welcome they offer to walkers. Below is a summary of our usual accommodations*.
On this trek, the accommodations are mostly small and family-run, all rooms have a private bathroom.
Night 1: Brasov
Located just 10 minutes’ walk from the City Square, this lovely 3* hotel offers a blend between Romanian history and modern comforts. Dinner is taken in a restaurant across the square and offers the opportunity to eat local products cooked in a traditional Romanian style.
All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, telephone, minibar and private bathroom with WC, shower, bath and hairdryer.
Night 2: Rasnov
This small hotel is classified locally as a 3* resort, however it only has 6 rooms, and is a long way from the sea. You will however be assured of an excellent welcome from the owners who are very proud of their hotel. The rooms are simple but clean with showers rather than baths. Dinner is taken in the small restaurant and you will be assured of a hearty traditional Romanian dinner prepared by the owner who is a qualified chef. There is a small garden to relax in with views of the Rasnov Citadel.

Night 3: Bran
Perfectly located just across the road from the World Famous ‘Draculas’ Castle, this charming small hotel has only 6 rooms. Virgil and his wife Marcela are excellent hosts for your stay in Bran – think hospitality rather than service. Marcela will cook for you in the evening a traditional Romanian meal and will prepare a typical country breakfast in the morning.

Night 4: Moieciu de Sus
Located in the heart of the mountains, this small, modern hotel was built by a local family. All 15 rooms all modern in style with excellent bathrooms, they all also have a balcony. Dinner is taken in the restaurant and will feature local specialities.

Nights 5 & 6: Magura
With just four rooms, this small hotel is set within a tranquil location with outstanding views. Two of their four rooms have balconies which give wonderful peaceful views. Dinner will be prepared by your host Raz and along with family. Breakfast features homemade jams, yogurt, cheese and fresh milk.

Night 7: Zarnesti
For your last night you stay in a delightful small town. This pension has 18 rooms, all with a balcony or terrace. There is also a big garden with beautiful views of the mountains. Dinner is served in the restaurant or on the terrace.

We will always endeavour to use the accommodations detailed above. Occasionally, due to limited availability or refurbishments, we may have to accommodate you into alternative accommodations which are not listed in the above description. If those listed are unavailable, the alternative accommodation will be of the same or better standard than those described.
