We have personally stayed in or visited all of our accommodations. They have all been selected for their great locations, friendly atmosphere and traditional hospitality, as well as the warm welcome they offer to walkers. Below is a summary of our usual accommodations*.

On this trek, the accommodations are mostly small and family-run, all rooms have a private bathroom.

Nights 1, 2 & 3: Encumeada

Situated on one of the most beautiful slopes of the Ribeira Brava valley, at an altitude of 950m, this delightful hotel features a bar/lounge on site where guests can unwind as well as comfortable rooms. Wi-Fi is available in public areas.

All rooms feature television, telephone and private bathroom with WC, shower/bath and hairdryer.


Nights 4 & 5: Porto Moniz

Located in the centre of Porto Moniz, this hotel offers extensive views of the Atlantic Ocean. The rooms are spacious and modern, some featuring balconies with sea views. The dining room has lovely floor to ceiling windows where you can enjoy traditional dishes from Madeira.

All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, telephone, safe and private bathroom with WC, shower and hairdryer. 


Nights 6 & 7: Prazares

Built in 1993 this Mediterranean style hotel offers a sundeck, indoor swimming pool and library. Some of the rooms feature views of the sea, natural park and mountains. There is also a wellness centre with solarium and hot tub. Their friendly restaurant serves a huge international buffet breakfast.

All rooms feature free Wi-Fi, television, telephone, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and private bathroom with WC, shower/bath and hairdryer.

We will always endeavour to use the accommodations detailed above. Occasionally, due to limited availability or refurbishments, we may have to accommodate you into alternative accommodations which are not listed in the above description. If those listed are unavailable, the alternative accommodation will be of the same or better standard than those described.
