Walking Holiday Spain - Balearic Islands - Mallorca
Walking in Mallorca, Spain Mallorca is now well and truly on the walking map with walkers discovering that the island is not just beaches and a sun tan. To the north and northwest of the island is a limestone mountain range, the Sierra de Tramuntana with many peaks rising to over 1000m and culminating in the Puig Mayor at 1447 metres. Mallorca has over 300 miles of coastline with an abundance of picturesque coves and inlets where the mountains meet the sea. Springtime brings beautiful sub-alpine flowers to enhance your walks on the slopes below rocky mountain summits. Lower down paths are scented year round by lavender and wild thyme.
The walks are generally well marked and are often along old mule tracks formerly trading routes between villages. Stunning panoramic views towards the sea are plentiful whether you are on a cliff path or many miles inland.
A number of the walks in Mallorca have been closed by private land owners barring the way and many guide books are now quite out of date. Our self guided walks take this into account and offer uninterrupted walking.
Self Guided
We offer a choice of walks for all abilities based in Port de Soller.
This we feel is the best base for self guided walking.
Many walks are available from either hotel or you can use the reliable public transport by bus (timetable provided) to access those walks further afield or to return you home at the end of the day.
