Responsible Travel

Responsible Tourism Policy

At New Experience Holidays, we work hard to ensure that we act responsibly in all aspects of our business. Responsible travel is, and always has been, one of the core values of New Experience Holidays. We want to offer holidays which positively impact the people and places we visit, that is why when you choose to book a New Experience holiday you are creating benefits for the local communities that you visit and safeguarding the places we want to protect for future generations of walkers.

Our holidays

We always try to handpick family run accommodations and local suppliers, including guides, drivers, and porters which ensures your money is going directly to local people in the communities which you are holidaying. We also recommend that you eat in small local restaurants, particularly those who focus on local, seasonal produce. This not only helps reduce your carbon emissions but offers you a richer experience.

Many of our holidays take place in remote, rural areas where depopulation is a threat to the local economy. By holidaying in these regions, you help to bring employment and regeneration to the area. One of the most environmentally friendly ways to explore such destinations is on foot, but we can only achieve this by minimising the impact of our visit on the surrounding environment.

With your help we achieve this by asking you to follow these simple guidelines:

·         Stay on marked footpaths

·         Keep your distance from local wildlife

·         Take your litter with you

Our walking holidays get you closer to the destinations you visit, providing meaningful connections with local people, traditions, food, culture, and environment. You gain a unique perspective on what makes that destination special, this understanding provides not only a more memorable experience but gives you the ability to make a positive difference.

In the office

We recycle as much waste as possible, including paper, cardboard packaging, plastic bottles, batteries, light bulbs, our used printer cartridges. We also donate any unwanted printers to local charities and surplus stationery to the local school.

We make a conscious effort not to print documents unless necessary and we are now sending most of our documents electronically.

Local staff cycle to and from work whatever the weather!
